Twelve Cylinders in the Audi Q7

Audi is proud to present a world first – the first twelve-cylinder diesel engine in a series passenger car. This six-litre V12 makes its debut in the Audi Q7. It produces a colossal 500 PS and 1,000 Nm of torque. With this engine Audi has opened a new chapter in diesel history.

おーっと、V12 TDI Power（R10のものとは別*1）が、Ｑ７でデビューだ！！　ユーロ５*2に適応、100kmを走るのに11.9Lの燃料消費。。。ってことは、8.4km/Lですね。6.0L 12気筒としては驚異的なんとちゃうん。おまけにツインターボやし。この巨艦を5.5秒で100km/hの世界へ誘うわけだ。。。恐るべし。

*1:R10のものは、バンク角９０度で5.5L 650馬力以上

*2:ヨーロッパでの排ガス規制（走行１キロメートルあたり）で、２０１０年発効予定。ＮＯｘ排出量は０．２グラム以下、ＰＭは０．００５グラム以下にするという非常に厳しいもの。
