Landmark victory for Audi in 2005 fleet news awards

Corporate sector convention has just been turned on its head by Audi, the first premium sector manufacturer in the 20-year history of the Fleet News Awards to claim the coveted title of Fleet Manufacturer of the Year. Audi has also set a second precedent in the magazine's 2005 honours list by becoming the only manufacturer ever to win both Fleet Manufacturer of the Year and Company Car of the Year awards in the same year, the latter for the A6 saloon. Head of Audi Business Sales Adrian Short was rarely in his seat at the Fleet News ceremony, as he was also asked to receive the Premium Lower Medium Car of the Year award for the A3 Sportback and the Luxury Car of the Year award for the A8. The A4 saloon was also highly commended in the Premium Upper Medium category.
